with a swinging lever. Fine wooden case, open work decoration, 43x27
cm, height. 30 cm. 40 keys. With 11 rolls. Germany, beginning of the XXth
c. Seems complete, good general condition, needs a revision.
Nº 645: A good 11,5 cm disc Symphonion alarm clock Height
30 cm. Beginning of the XXth c. Restored, good condition. With 7 discs.
Nº 647-648: no lots. Nº 649: "Gisèle à deux danseuses" a two tunes
musical box (tunesheet) with two small dancing dolls on top, in its
case stamped "Jouet Fantaisie". The dolls in pipe-clay, original clothing.
Nº 651: "Couple de danseurs" or "la fête" (A dancing couple,
or a "feast") Two dancers in XVIIIth c. costumes, in a green
foliage scenery, bisque heads and hands, wooden legs (one with a chip).
On a wooden base with a one tune musical movement with tunesheet. Fine
condition, ca 1870. Height 24 - Width 25cm.
Nº 667: "Valseuse" A charming automaton from the Napoléon
III era (3d quarter of the XIXth c.) depicting a walzing woman. Bisque
head, shoulders and hands attributed to Gaultier. Fine period clothing.
2 tunes musical movement. Height 39cm.
Nº 668-669: no lots Nº 670: A rare musical clock with an animated scene. Varnished
mahoganny case with brass and mother of pearl decorations. In the lower
part, a painted scene with a moving mill and two moving waterfalls. In
the upper part, the dial is framed with 4 wooden columns. Height 57 cm.
Good movement. End of the XIXth c. Probably from Austria. Good (later)
4 tunes Thorens musical movement, 9 cm cylinder. In good presentation and
working order condition.

decoration, Lenght 55 cm. 33 cm cylinder. Ca 1880. Completely restored.
Modern tunesheet. Good condition and sound.
Nº 674: A 12 tunes musical box Case with boxwood stringing
decoration, lenght 55 cm. 24 cm cylinder, diam. 8 cm. 43 teeth.
Tune indicator. End of the XIXth c. Restoration needing completion.
Nº 675: A 17 keys chamber cylinder organ "Maison Husson
Buthod et Thibouville et Henry Saveresse", with a label "Ancienne maison
Carnaud, A Provoste et Sciers, 8, quai du Louvre, Paris" Walnut case
58x37 cm, Height 83 cm. Not original handle. A large tunesheet for
3 old cylinders, but the present cylinder is a modern one, made ca 1983
by the organ maker Jean Bourgarel. (10 tunes, of which Bizet, Offenbach,
Planquette, etc.). Three 17 keys stops (metal pipes, partly open,
partly stopped, all are there but some are crumpled). 2d half of the XIXth
c. Restoration needs to be completed.
Nº 676: A 24 keys Ariston organette End of the XIXth c.

7 cardboard discs. Needs restoration.
Nº 678: Monopol, A wall 35 cm disc musical box Sculpted
wooden box with glazed door (a few worm holes, top lacking) 74x38 cm, height
87 cm. Two diagonally opposite 52 teeth combs (one broken tooth in each).
German, end of the XIXth c. With 11 discs. Rather good condition (lacking
handle).
Nº 679: A 27/29 keys busker organ On a metal carriage
with
4 wheels with rubber tyres. Anonymous made, with some old elements.
Works with a handle (it was restored and sold by Alain Vian in Paris).
64x35 cm, Height. 70 cm. Needs a revision (we did not dismantle it). With
12 modern 27 keys books of music.
Nº 680: A 10 tunes coin operated barrel piano Art nouveau
style piano, 1,25x64 cm. Height 1,50 + top 35 cm. "J. Guindre
Le Valdahon Doubs". Some worm damage on the left side, otherwise rather
good general condition. Soundboard apparently good (but we could not see
the lower part). 99 cm cyl. (split). 51 piano keys, with mandoline effect.
Tunesheet for the 10 dance tunes. With a second cylinder. Ca 1920/30.
Nº 681: Nicole Frères, a 8 tunes musical box No
40415 (ca 1865). 52 cm case with decoration of boxwood stringing and stylised
inlay on the cover. Handwritten tunesheet. Leverwound (inner side lid missing),
3 commands. 33 cm cyl. One broken tooth, many bent pins. Good presentation
and working condition, but needs a restoration.
Nº 684: Melodion, a 6 tunes and 27 keys German cylinder organette
Case painted in imitation of wood 56 cm. 42 cm cyl. End of the XIXth
c. Good condition, in working order, but needs some adjustments.

Nº 696: A rare couple of musicians with "Nüremberg" said
composition head and shoulders, open mouth with teeth, painted wooden
limbs. They are seated and clothed in the Turkish fashion. The woman plays
a guitar and the man strikes cymbals. Pulling movement for the head and
the hands. Under glass dome. Total height 35 cm. L. 24 cm. Mid XIXth c.
Nº 697: A goat pulling a basket-work made cart, with inside
decorated with original blue silk. A fine toy from the Napoléon
III period (3d quarter of the XIXth c.). Mechanism inside the cart. Fine
original condition (the eyes of the goat are lacking). L 43cm.
Nº 698: Gustave VICHY "Jeune femme au masque" (A lady
with a masque). A charming automaton depicting a young lady seated
under a tree. She fans herself with her right hand, and holds in her left
hand a masque that she lifts in front of her face. Bisque head by Gaultier,
chestnut paperweight eyes, bisque shoulders and hands. 2 tunes musical
movement with remnants of a tunesheet. Fine original condition, because
protected under a glass dome. Height 40cm.
Nº 707: A curious clock under glass dome with a musical animated
scene depicting a farrier workshop. 4 movements. Lenght 44 cm.
Height 51 cm. Good 3 tunes musical movement (we did not dismantle it).
XIXth c. Restorations. In very good condition.
Nº 716: LAMBERT. "Bébé à l'ombrelle" A
baby with a parasol. A charming automaton with 2 movements of
its head. It catches a butterfly with a net it holds in its right hand,
and moves its parasol with its left hand. Jumeau head stamped in red, taille
4, closed mouth, chestnut paperweight eyes. Base with a musical movement,
in perfect condition. Clothing and the parasol have been remade, but in
a remarkable manner, the underwear is original. Ca 1890. See the catalogue
of the Maison Lambert réf. 36. Height 58cm.
Nº 718: RENOU (attributed to). "Singe sur rocking chair" (A
monkey on a rocking chair). As it was found, but it works. The swinging
of the rocking chair needs attention. Musical movement. Movements of the
head, the right hand, the eyes, and the arm which feeds the baby. Height
39 - Width 30cm.
Nº 719: Decamps. "La ballerine" SFBJ bisque head. Clothed
with a dancing frill skirt, she rotates, with movements of the body and
the arms. Ca 1930. With the label "Nain Bleu". Base with musical movement.
Height 43cm.
Nº 720: LAMBERT. "La tricoteuse" An automaton depicting
a seated woman on a bamboo chair. She leans forward and knits. Bisque
arms and hands (accident to a finger), Simon & Halbig bisque head (accident
and missing part). Movements of the eyes. Period clothing (worn dress,
but underwear and shoes in good condition). In front of her feet, a cat
plays with a woollen ball. Base with musical movement playing one tune
"Le Grand Mogol". Key. "L.B." Height 52cm.
Nº 721: A German small manivelle toy depicting a clown playing
the violin, with his dog, with a small musical movement. The
clown with a bisque head. End of the XIXth c. Good general condition (bottom
of the case lacking, not original violin, wear to the dog). H 27x16cm.
Nº 722: Farkas. "joueuse de mandoline" A female mandolin player
Composition head and hands. Movements of the head, the right arm and
a foot beating time. Reuge musical movement. Mid XXth c. Height 37cm.
Nº 723: Farkas. "le cordonnier" The shoemaker. Bisque
head, his left hand goes sideways, the right hand strikes with a hammer,
his head rotates from right to left, and on the bench, a small bird rotates.
Rare model. Reuge musical movement. Mid XXth c. Height 36cm.
Nº 724: A singing bird movement for a snuffbox stamped "K. G.
Made in Germany". In working order.
Nº 725: A singing bird snuffbox needing completion and restoration.

Nº 726: A political automaton "Confédération Générale
du travail - Bien être et liberté" (Welfare and Liberty).

Nos 729 à 742: 14 good modern automata by Marie Madeleine KAËPPELIN Marie Madeleine KAËPPELIN has created automata as soon as when she was 15, and mainly in the years 1970/80. The antiques specialized journal " L'Estampille ", June 1975, has dedicated a long and excellent article to her work. She is also mentionned pages 76 and 77 in the book " Les Automates ", by Jean BEDEL (Ed. " A.B.C. Décor ", 1987). At that time, she changed her artistic automata creation activity for personal reasons, corresponding to a very serious change in her life. Pierre MATISSE, son of Henri, who holds a gallery in New York City, was one of her clients. May we propose an extract of the article from the " l'Estampille " Journal : " Marie-Madeleine KAËPPELIN goes on with the tradition, but does not try to imitate her famous predecessors : her automata have a very personnal touch. She does not pretend to be a mechanics nor an ingeneer. She is first an artist, with poetical and satirical mind. (A copy of this article from the " L'Estampille " journal will be
given to each of the buyers).
Nº 734: "Le serpent" (A snake) A snake goes forward undulating
in a forest. Electrical, ca 1982. Height 26x18 - Depht 10cm.
Nº 735: "Lee Cooper" Created ca 1983 from the famous advertisement
for
the jeans trousers. A fair woman, seen from behind, with naked shoulders,
wears such jeans and undulates ... Electrical. Height 18x7 - Depht 9cm.
Nº 738: "Le chien" (A dog) Ca 1962, a handle operated
automaton. This dog looks at the contents of a dust bin, and scratches
its neck. Height 30x20 - Depht 13cm.
Nº 739: "Le singe orange" (An orange monkey) Ca 1961,
a handle operated automaton. It looks at itself in a mirror. Height
26x10 - Depht 13cm.
Nº 740: "Le singe rêveur" (A dreaming monkey) Ca
1963. It scratches its head, with movements of its eyes. Height 25x13
- Depht 10cm.
Nº 741: "Singe clown" (A monkey as a clown). Ca 1965.
A handle operated automaton. It jumps on a chair. Height 21x17 - Depht
6cm.
Nº 742: "Le singe clown" (A monkey as a clown). Ca 1965,
similar to the preceding lot. Height 21x17 - Depht 6cm.
Nº 743-744: no lots. Nº 745: "Gisèle", a fine dancing doll on a rosewood box.
Total height : 20 cm. Box 11,5x7,5 cm. Fine 11 cm bisque headed doll
with period clothes. The spring of the "dancing" mechanism is unhooked,
otherwise the whole item is in very good condition. End of the XIXth c.
Nº 748: A 6 tunes musical box Case with decoration of
boxwood stringing and transfer (remnants). 31 cm. Nickel plated 9 cm
cylinder. End of the XIXth c. Good condition, good sound, but needs
cleaning and some small restorations (unhooked spring).
Nº 749: A 6 tunes musical box, with external winding Probably
by Mermod. Simple case, lenght 37 cm. Brass 9 cm cylinder. Tune indicator.
End of XIXth c. Seems in good condition, needs cleaning and a revision
(spring unhooked).
Nº 750: A good 8 tunes musical box Case with transfer
decoration (some wear), lenght 43 cm. Right interior case divider needs
to be remade. Nickel plated 15 cm cylinder, tune indicator. End of
XIXth c. Tune changer blocked. Good sound and fine playing. Probably by
the French maker l'Epée.
Nº 751: A "Nicea" coin operated barrel piano Art nouveau
style piano 142x67, Height 170 cm + top 30 cm. 10 tunes. 119
cm cylinder (splits). 57 piano keys, 4 drum keys, 1 woodblock and 1 triangle.
The lower part of the soundboard needs attention : metal stiffeners, and
splits.
Nº 752: Imperator, a 19 cm disc musical box Case 26,5
cm, with a lithography "Imperator" under the lid. Winding through an
external handle. Ca 1900. Good condition (small adjustments needed). With
6 discs.
Nº 753: A 2 tunes musical tile In a contourned shape,
with tunesheet. A split in the tile. Rather asthmatic musical movement.

in view Reuge 18 teeth musical movement. We add an electrified
base for a Chirstmas tree, with a 18 teeth Reuge musical movement, playing
"Silent night". Good condition. End of the XXth c.
Nº 767: Jaccard, Suisse, a curious mechanical metronome
with bell striking every 2, 3 or 4 beats. Ca 1950/60. Excellent condition,
with cardboard box and instructions.
Nº 768: A rare set of more than 78 rpm records, playing various
mechanical organs, French and Dutch, large organs (Mortier, but
also Marenghi, Jazz orchestre Limonaire, etc.) and portable organs. Ca
1920-1940, a few later. Good condition.
Nº 769: A fine small 3 tunes musical box, with mandoline effect
In need of a restoration. Fine burrwood case in the shape of a trunk,
good condition, 15 cm. 9 cm cylinder (many bent pins, 5 broken teeth).

organ. Total lenght 111 cm, pinned lenght, 95 cm. Diam. 135 mm.
Helicoidal notation. With a label "Leroy aîné". One has a
religious program, the other plays "Ouverture de la caravane du Caire".

Nº 779: A good small diatonic accordion made by François
Dedenis à Brive 21 song keys, 8 bass keys. Ca 1900. Rather
good condition.
Nº 780: A manual played Zither "Piano Harp" "Salon Harfe" 2
chromatic octaves and 6 bass chords. 45x53 cm. Beginning of the XXth c.
A few strings missing.
Nº 781: Two accordions mid XIXth c. One in blackened wood,

mother of pearl keys. 36 cm. The other with 12 keys. In need of a restoration.

Nº 790: A rare collection of four small fairground targets,
which are believed to be erotic till their doors open when the shooter
succeed ... with no erotic image at all. 33x20cm.
Nº 791: A pig by K. Müller, ca 1905, the saddle with a
pig head, glass eyes, old painting, some flakes. L. 1m45. H. 75 cm.
On a modern base.
Nº 792: Bayol, a fine natural wood carrousel horse, with
traces of polychromy, sculpture of small flowers, glass eyes, very good
condition. H. 1m25 - W 1m20
Nº 793: A dromedary by Mathieu, ca 1950, with two seats,
original
painting, glass eyes, with an exceptionnal harnessing. Original base. L.
1m20. H. 107 cm.
Nº 794: A concave distorting mirror. 42x30cm.
Nº 795: A modern fairground panel, in the 1900 style, with lighting.
In
various materials. A goblin's mask with flowers. H : 130cm.
