Player Piano Tracking Problem
By Candy Hawblitz

[ in MMDigest 190708, Jim Neher asked about a tracking problem

Hi Jim,

This is in answer to your question about your Robert Loud Player. You
mentioned the left hand spindle does NOT move freely. You don't need to
take everything apart. But you DO need to remove the "gunk" on the left
hand spindle. Your best bet is to clean it THOROUGHLY with light weight
sewing machine oil. That will remove the gunk and also cause it to turn
freely. Just take the spindle off (obvious) and clean thoroughly. Then
wipe with a soft cloth making certain you have all the "gunk" removed.

DO NOT use any type of solvent as just sewing machine oil should do the trick.
