Cheers for the MMD site!!! It can accomplish wonderful things!
Thanks to Bill Burkhardt Jr., I was able to procure the 08962 Imperial
1936 piano roll, "Wa-Hoo." It is headed to the Museum at Wahoo,
Nebraska.
I also want to acknowledge Tim L'Amoureux, who suggested I could hear a
recording of "Wa-Hoo" by the Hoosier Hotshots. I ordered a 4-CD set
from Proper Records (Amazon) called "Everybody Stomp." I grew up
listening to Spike Jones on the radio, but somehow missed the Hoosier
Hotshots radio program.
The thing I love about the Hoosier Hotshots group is that they play
similar zany music but do a lot of songs I recognize from my piano roll
collection, like "They Go Wild, Simply Wild Over Me," "Oh By Jingo,"
"How Are You Going To Keep 'Em Down On The Farm," etc. So I want to
thank Tim for putting me on the trail.
Now the piano roll: I have a customer offering $30 for a Dolly Parton
medley roll (I believe by PlayRite) with the songs "I Will Always Love
You, Jolene" and "Coat Of Many Colors."
Somebody's day will be made if I can scare up this roll.
