Sale of Magnificent Mechanical Musical Instruments and Automata
at Bonhams, New York.
Bonhams warmly welcomes you to this, the finest sale of mechanical
music to be held in New York since 1950 and most probably the best
for many years to come.
You will notice that both the flyer and the advert in your copy of
the Musical Box Society bulletin which states the sale date as being
the 15th September. However, due to the large influx of entries and
the work involved in the direction of this auction, the sale date has
been put back to October 7th. This also works better for those wishing
to extend their vacation after the MBSI convention chapter and then
travel to the sale in New York. October 7 is the date and the date
is October 7. Just to make sure you have that!
We therefore use this opportunity to thank all readers who have placed
their fine instruments with us for this sale, and to make you aware
that this is the final call for consignments to this sale. We are
requiring the best of the best, with quality being the key attraction.
If you have item(s) which are likely to carry a lower estimate of
$15,000, with no ceiling on the upper estimate, please contact Jonathan
Snellenburg who is our point of contact in New York until I fly over
there later. His email is jonathan.snellenburg@bonhams.com.geentroep
[delete ".geentroep" to reply].
The full details of the sale, bearing the updated sale date, pictures
and contacts, will be seen in your next issue of the Musical Box
Society bulletin. Until then, we thank you for your patience whilst we
conclude our work on this amazing auction of a lifetime, for which we
look very much forward to meeting you at the viewing sessions, which
will be October 2-3 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., October 4 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,
October 5-6 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., October 7 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the
auction itself will be at 1 p.m. EST on the 7th October. See you there!
With very kind regards,
