This afternoon a friend and I discovered a 1926 Weber grand, walnut
burr, standard 88-note. The seller claims that this instrument was
originally in the Odeon Cinema, Leicester Sq.? The shop is located in
Buxton, Derbyshire. Does anyone know of this piano? I would have
thought that somewhere like an Odeon Cinema would have used an electric
Duo-Art?
Am I living in the Dark Ages or is GBP 9,500 a bit over-expensive?
Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the price that "antique" dealers charge
for instruments. I recently spoke to someone who'd found a 65-note
roll in a shop; the price: GBP 35.

[ The seller is apparently content to display the instrument until
[ someone pays the asking price. A serious buyer would surely search
[ for other sources, to establish the market value. Don't forget:
[ an absurd price sticker on the article at an antique store is only to
[ make customers gasp! The serious buyer will ignore it and proceed
[ with negotiations. -- Robbie
