New Pluer Organ for MS Zaandam
The "Titanic" movie has created a renewed interest in opulent ocean
liners, and so the luxury cruise lines are now preparing to delight well-heeled
customers with some fancy new appointments aboard their ships! MMDer
Elbert Pluer, of Bussum, Holland, is now constructing a large chromatic
organ, to be delivered to Holland America Lines in 1999 for placement aboard
the new cruise ship MS Zaandam. According to Holland America Lines
the MS Zaandam, which is presently under construction in Italy, will accommodate
1,440 passengers and is scheduled for delivery late in 1999.

At
our firm we are now busy building a large chromatic organ (see photograph).
It is ordered by the Holland-Amerika-Line.
The
organ will be placed on the cruise ship MS Zaandam. In July 1999
the organ must be ready.
It
is a pleasure to announce that FR. Decap, Herentals, is willing to build
the electronic system. The organ will be played by MIDI floppy disk
system. This firm was one of the first to build mechanical organs
played by this system.
