by Wolfgang Brommer (101121 MMDigest) Dear friends, it's been a long time since I wrote and now I am back with you. Today my great question: In the Waldkirch restaurant called "Bayersepple" played a famous orchestrion. Nobody knows about this instrument today. Normally we would think, "It should have been a Gebr. Weber Orchestrion -- but maybe it's a Welte Cottage No. 2 or 3?" All information was lost during the two World Wars and changes of owners and the house inside. The only picture I have at this moment is from 1903. Does anybody know more about this instrument? I hope so, and see you at the next International Waldkirch Organ Festival, May 27th to May 29th, 2011. Yours,
