Unified Reproduco
List of
Unified Reproduco Organ Rolls
& Unified Funeral Organ Rolls
compiled by Jack M. Conway

reproducoUnified504A&B.gif (15 kb)

The Unified Reproduco Rolls are 15.25 inches wide, punched 9 holes per inch, and mounted on nickelodeon style cores with an inside diameter of 2.50 inches and outside diameter of 2.75 inches.  They are stored in boxes much like nickeloden roll boxes.

The Unified Funeral Rolls were mounted on piano roll type cores with flanges and stored in small boxes. They mount directly in the roll box like a piano roll.

The roll transport provides two playing speeds: (1) slow and (2) really slow!  Computed initial speeds, found by measuring the take-up spool circumference and revolutions per minute, are (1) 5.625 ft/min = "Tempo 56"; (2) 3.375 ft/min = "Tempo 34".  Pop tunes are usually played using the faster "slow" speed.

UNIFIED REPRODUCO ORGAN ROLLS

Most, if not all, of the rolls are medley rolls with musical bridges between the
tunes.  The two rolls identified as 504(A) and 504(B) differ mostly in the order
of the tunes, probably for better tempos.  The same label is pasted on the roll
and the roll box.  None of the roll labels have tune numbers.  The text layout
on the labels is different than shown in the list following.
