Rollo Mexico 1329 by Robbie Rhodes
The same label is pasted on the box and and on the roll leader. The design is dark green ink imprinted on an embossed gold leaf paper -- very fancy! The song title, etc., is printed in a stylized type face by letterpress type, in black ink. Below the design of the eagle is the trademark registration and date: M.IND.REG.26078 J. CORIA MEXICO. AGOS.18 1926. These two rubber-stamped notices appear in the inside of the bottom
box:
Before the label was applied to the roll leader, the top surface of
the leader was imprinted with a rubber stamp bearing the production date:
22 Diciembre 1928.
The tune is "Deep Hollow", by Mickey Guy & Ken Macomber, arranged by Ken Macomber, (C) 1928 Alfred & Co., N.Y., published as a band 'stock' arrangement in the key of E-flat. Audio recordings were made in 1928 by two orchestras in USA and also by a band in England. The music roll is perforated with a 0.063" square punch, 0.10" per step. The music is nominally 4 steps/beat, but 1 step is missing approx every 1.25 measure. This suggests that the original was re-sampled, probably from 6 steps/beat. The errors are corrected in the MIDI file below.
