up mechanism in back. The album contains cabinet photos of Garfield, his
mother, and military men. It also contains tintypes including Civil War
soldier with wife. Spine is loose, velvet needs cleaned, otherwise excellent

each with zither attachment. Wonderful carved mahogany case with four full
length carved corner columns and front door for disc storage. This music
box is in beautiful, pristine condition and worthy of the finest collection.

Lot 64. RARE REGINA 15-1/2" DISC MUSIC BOX WITH MATCHING DISC STORAGE
CABINET: Double comb. This case style is similar to the 20-3/4" style
No. 28 with the fancy "cupola" lid top. This "cupola" lid case style in
a 15-1/2" box is quite scarce. This is a rare opportunity to acquire this
seldom encountered style 15-1/2" Regina. The music box and cabinet are
both mahogany with wonderful carving. Excellent original finish. 35 discs.
The box is 22-1/2" w x 20-1/2" d x 13-1/2" h. Cabinet is 26" w x 22" d
x 34" h.

Lot 68. WILLIAM B. TILTON/ZOGBAUM & FAIRCHILD FLAT TOP ACOUSTIC
GUITAR: Serial #2111. Brazilian rosewood body with string inlay . This
guitar has the engraved German silver disc in the sound hole. Patent 1856.
The German silver tail piece is nicely engraved in a floral pattern with
two engraved medallions. The first is engraved "Awarded to Zogbaum &
Fairchild for the Best Guitars Tilton Patent 1865" and the second is engraved
"American Institute N.Y.". Tail piece has small line. This guitar is in
very good original condition and has its original wooden carrying case.

roller organ with original spindled gallery and excellent gilt stenciling.
Manufactured by the Tournaphone Music Co. of Worcester, Mass. Original

Lot 84. FRENCH ONYX MANTEL CLOCK: Signed "Der & Fosse" on
dial. Fancy brass floral mountings and columns. Brass movement. A beautiful
onyx clock. 16" w x 7" d x 15-1/2" h.
Lot 85. FRENCH STATUE CLOCK: Black cast iron case with spelter
decorations. The left side features a full standing angel with large wings
playing a harp, the right side with bow and quiver of arrows. The 4" black
dial with gilt numerals. Movement marked, "Medaille D' Argent, Vincenti,
1855.". 12-1/2" w x 5 " d x 16" h.
Lot 86. THREE PIECE NEW HAVEN FRENCH STYLE CLOCK SET: The clock
stands 15" h. with porcelain insert of three dancing maidens in flower
garden and bust of woman with wings forming the feet. 17" candleholders
with French scenes on porcelain inserts. One boboche is missing, otherwise
excellent condition.

quill & paper rest on top. A violin within a wreath adorns the top
of the clock and a harp upon the side. Other fancy gilt mountings on the

WALNUT BOOKCASES: The great arched crest on each surrounds a center
finial with incised gilt line carving. Each upper section features arched
top glass doors, also with gilt line carving. The doors are flanked with
fluted Corinthian corner columns with additional carving. The lower case
on each with two drawers above two cupboard doors with heavy moulded and
carved panels. These bases also with gilt line carvings. These are wonderful,
bold, and imposing pieces of furniture no doubt manufactured by one of
the leading eastern companies in the third quarter of the 19th century.
Would make a wonderful addition to a library. A great opportunity to acquire

has four fully carved figures of youths in the kneeling position with one

has carved band around it with unique carvings on each end of the top.
A drawer is found in the center of one side. No doubt this was a one of
a kind special made table for an important person or business. One of the

door. Serial No. 30,236. This box is equipped with a coin slot; however,
the mechanism is missing and the changer mechanism is also missing. The
record playing spring barrel and mechanism is included and the combs are
in good condition with all teeth intact. The original piano style sounding
board is also missing, an incorrect sounding board having been added. This
could be an outstanding box for the person that has the needed parts to

board in 1981. Restoration performed by A. & C. in New York City. Player
mechanism completely rebuilt by Frank Thompson in Boston, Mass. This was
the featured piano at AMICA National Convention in 1981. Piano includes
original sales literature and roll catalogs. Also included are two original

and double hinged burled panel front doors which lead to a full fitted
interior with drop front writing surface, file boxes, letter slots, drawers,
and cubby holes. Retains the original letter slot. Raised burl panels all

Lot 223A. MOORE COMBINATION DESK: Rare, Ca. 1882, walnut Moore
Combination Desk Co., banker's or office desk. Wonderful walnut and burled
walnut case, with elaborate gallery, side-hinged opening desk with many
pigeon holes and shelves, file boxes, and writing flap. This desk is very
similar to Figure 20, Page 15 in The King of Desks: Wooten's Patent Secretary,
published by The Smithsonian Institution Press, Washington D.C. 1969. Figure
20 is for patent number 263,055 for cabinet desk issued to Joseph A. Moore,
22 August 1882. These desks are very scarce and this is a wonderful opportunity

Lot 225. EXTREMELY RARE GEORGE HICKS BARREL PIANO WITH AUTOMATA FIGURES:
Signed under the strings as follows: "George Hicks, Maker, 14 Charles St.,
St. Jamess, Bristol". The central portion of this rare barrel piano contains
ten figures which move as the piano plays. They are as follows: (1) &
(2) a dentist and his patient, (3) man playing a trumpet. (4) & (5)
man and woman dancing, (6) & (7) two court jesters, (8) & (9) two
soldiers, and (10) a court attendant. The upper portion with flower decorated
tin panel contains the piano strings while the lower section a revolving
cylinder programmed with different tunes by means of brass pins placed
on its surface. As the crank turns the cylinder, these pins activate the
piano's hammers and the painted figures move in time to the music. Rosewood
case. Similar example in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 17" w x 14" d
x 37-1/2" h.

1898. Coin operated with curved glass top with original drop nickel label

volume control. Top mirror missing, otherwise in excellent condition.
Lot 235. RARE BERLINER GRAM-O-PHONE: A wonderful early gramophone.
This 7" manually driven disc phonograph has a cast turn table support and
pulley w/ original horn. All these parts appear to be original. It has
an oval brass metal tag stamped "E. Berliner, Gram-O-Phone, Patent 1888,
89 and 95" on wooden platform. Accompanied with letter of authenticity
from E. Berliner's grandson stating he believes all the parts to be original.
We feel the wooden platform, wooden tone arm and reproducer all appear
to be non-original. This early Berliner gramophone would be a great addition
to anyone's collection. 16" x 10" w/ 16" horn.
