QRS WF Label Doesn't Say "WORD ROLL"
By Lee Rothrock
There's a post on eBay for QRS piano roll WF9300, "Der Reiselustige
Jüngling" [The Travel-loving Youth]. The box label doesn't say
"WORD ROLL".

The seller claimed there were words on the roll when I asked months ago.
Later someone asked the seller about the words and got a promise to add
words information to the post. I couldn't be sure if they meant they
would take a photo of the printed words or just copy some, letter by
letter. That was in July and there is no news to date.
So here's my question. Has anyone ever seen a QRS roll that didn't
specify "WORD ROLL" on the box, but actually did have words?

[ Early QRS rolls of foreign (e.g., European) songs were issued in
[ the "F" series. If the roll included stenciled words then "W" was
[ prefixed. The QRS general catalog of June, 1922, has no mention of
[ a 9000-series of "F" or "WF" rolls. -- Robbie
