FS: 1911 Steinway 65/88-note Themodist in New Jersey
By Joseph Hupcey

For sale: a 1911 Steinway 65/88 Pianola piano. This is a
"Vertegrand" upright (Model K, s/n 145168) with Aeolian player and
dual tracker bar that plays both 88-note and 65-note piano rolls.
This is a rare transitional player action, 65- and 88-note, which
is very desirable. The player also has an early form of expression
called "Themodist" that utilizes the same "snake bite" perforations
as the later Duo-Art system.

The player action is a 40-year-old restoration that needs some
work. Some piano action parts also need repair and the ivories need
replacement. The piano was restrung and new hammers and dampers
installed 40 years ago. The case was refinished two years ago and
the steel wheels were replaced with rubber castors. The dimensions
are height 54", depth 31", width 59".

The piano is located in Florham Park, New Jersey 07932, on the
ground floor, with extra-wide outside door access. A very worthwhile
restoration project. We will include fifteen 65-note rolls. Price:
$250 or best offer. Contact:
