David Krall is asking about the manufacturer of the Recordo pump
and expression unit seen in the photos [240712 MMD].
The pump was built by the Auto-Pneumatic Company, I believe. It is
easy to pack and ship things like that and send them via UPS. If the
person doesn't want to do the packing a UPS store can do it for you.
People send me all kinds of player piano parts for repair using the
service.
Regarding the restoration of the pump and Recordo governor:
Those Auto-Pneumatic pumps are a challenge to get working properly.
That is the same pump they used on the systems they built for the
Welte Licensee. It would probably make more sense to substitute
a modern bypass suction unit like the ones that the "Ragland" vendor
sells on eBay -- lots more wind than a rotary pump and they are
quiet in their operation. See

Now, if you are a purist or perhaps a glutton for punishment, then
rebuild the Auto-Pneumatic pump. I have good luck with them and they
are intriguing specimens of industrial know-how, which I suppose is
really why we all gravitate to these arcane musical devices in the
first place.
Let us know how you make out,
