Regina 27" Dragon Front Single Door Changer Gear

Responding to Alan Recce's question [270630 MMDigest] about the gear
on his Regina 27-1/2" changer, this is one of two mainspring winding
pinion gears.

The other for the lower mainspring is located immediately below the
bedplate. Their arbors run through the casting and the cabinet side,
to each of the winding handles.

In the original 1899 patent they are shown in numerous drawings as
parts #43 and #56.
