As editor of the German specialist journal "Das Mechanische
Musikinstrument", I am writing to you on the following matter. One of
our authors, the Waldkirch organ builder Achim Schneider, is currently
working on an article about Black Forest "Treiborgeln", a special type
of barrel organ.
There are very few of these instruments left in the world. One photo is
of an instrument that is supposed to be in the USA, but unfortunately
nobody knows where the photo was taken, where the instrument is and who
it belongs to.
We are now looking for the owner, as we would like to publish a (better)
photo of it in the Journal and would be grateful for any information!
Thank you very much for your efforts and best regards from Leipzig,
Claudia Nauheim

[ In this video organ-builder Achim Schneider of Waldkirch presents an
[ unusual barrel organ: a so-called TREIBORGEL. A total of five of this
[ special type of barrel organ are known to date.
[ These drive-organs [or "driven-organs"] are very similar in technical
[ construction to a Black Forest flute clock, but do not have a built-in
[ clockwork or a weight drive. The mechanism is set in motion by a crank
[ attached to the side.
