Hello Mr. Duwyn, I noticed your advert on the 24.04.12 MMD and
thought I should drop you a note. Since this information may also be
of interest to other MMDers I am replying through Mechanical Music
Digest.
In the 50 years I have been restoring I have had only one opportunity
to restore a Duwyn organ, back around 1998. This was for Rick Cooley
of Hockessin, Delaware, USA, who was a dealer in automated musical
instruments. He purchased it from Doyle Lane who was actually a Canadian
who moved his business from British Columbia, Canada, to the USA (in
Vermont, I think it was).
I picked up the Duwyn organ at Doyle's shop and brought it to my shops
here in Mt. Forest, Ontario, Canada, where it was fully restored and
even a facade was built for it which had been lost over the years. I do
still have all of the pictures of the restoration so if you don't find
a real Duwyn then I can at least send you some pictures.
Doyle Lane did produce a LP called "Those Magnificent Music Machines"
which does include the Duwyn organ. Here is a link to purchase a copy:
