Recently I received several emails requesting more information on
the "Blessing Three Figure Band" that my company (The Great Canadian
Nickelodeon Co.) had restored back in 1996 for Rick Cooley's company,
"Cooley's Olde Tyme Piano Shoppe (COTPS)" of Hockessin, Delaware, USA.
Rick was a major dealer in automated music until his passing in 2010.
For every restoration for our customers I always did "picture
progress reports", and luckily back in 1996 we only had film cameras
and the picture progress reports for the "Band" were finally found.
I have posted this picture progress report which shows the complete
restoration, as well as the history of the Blessing Band etc., under
"Memories of Rick Cooley" on my web page at
http://www.nickelodeonco.com/
You will have to scroll down a little on the home page to find it,
but you may also find several other interesting projects we have been
involved with over the past 50 years in automated musical instrument
restoration.
I also found a VHS videotape that Rick had commercially made in 1997
of the Blessing band after it was restored and set up in his showroom.
A good friend, Luke Grenz, of Ruedesheim, Germany, re-mastered it for
me and it can be viewed on my web site as well as at https://youtu.be/lbJjPo0DRoI
I believe the Blessing Robot Band is still with the Cooley family.
If you have any information on the Blessing Band you care to share,
please let me know.
Thank you,
Ron Schmuck - The Great Canadian Nickelodeon Co.
