Larry E. Reece, of Wayzata, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, 16 January,
2024. He was 74 years old. These instruments from his collection are
offered for sale by his brother-in-law, Les Hazen, the estate executor:
(1) Seeburg G Orchestrion, restored by Dave Ramey, Jr., in 2021 prior
to Larry's acquisition. Instrumentation includes piano, mandolin, flute
and violin pipes, snare drum, bass drum/tympani, cymbal, and triangle.
The piano has new bass strings and the action has been rebuilt using
original hammers and butts. Interior pneumatic mechanisms have been
restored to original factory condition. Plays style "G" roll. Appraisal,
photos, and videos available.
(2) Otto Accordion, custom built by Dan Dohman of Miner Calliope Co.
The instrument consists of an upgraded piano-accordion, a cherry wood
cabinet with swell shutters, stained glass panels top and bottom,
wood block, bass drum and snare drum. Plays style "G" music roll.
(3) Western Electric coin piano with stained glass and xylophone.
Plays style "A" music roll.
(4) Oak-case nickelodeon, stained glass panels top and bottom front
panels, with 7 extra instruments. Plays style "O" music roll.
