Telektra Hand-played Roll Recording Process
By David Krall

In doing some research on the Tel-Electric Company of Pittsfield,
Massachusetts, manufacturers of the Tel-Electric 65-note and 88-note
Telektra reproducing brass roll players, I came across an article
from the Thursday, November 23, 1916, issue of the Berkshire Evening
Eagle [of Pittsfield] reporting on a meeting and recital hosted by
the company at their plant in Pittsfield for the Dalton Masons [Globe
Unity Lodge A.F. & A.M. (Freemasonry), Dalton, Massachusetts].

The newspaper article goes on to describe the demonstration of their
player pipe organ and also of the use of paper to replace the brass
rolls. Of special interest is a paragraph in the article which gives
a brief description of the recording process for their hand-played
rolls. I have attached the full article as well as an enlargement of
the paragraph in question.

P.S.: As always, I am looking for the 7" wide brass TELEKTRA player
rolls.
