Replacing Drive Belts On 1917 Red Welte Piano

Replacing 1917 Mason and Hamlin Red Welte Drive Belts
Hello, I'd like to ask the group if anyone has ever replaced the flat
leather and the round leather belts on their Welte-Mignon piano?
There is what I'd call an “automotive style” V-belt that can replace the
round leather belt, but I have no idea of how to measure it while taking
into consideration the V profile of the two pulleys. I've seen it
installed on an instrument that was sold on Ebay.
I have what might be a serviceable flat belt, but its been given several
belt dressings to try to halt slippage, so maybe it's no longer usable.
Can it be cleaned successfully? How can I do it safely and with what
cleaning product? Or will it be fine as is? If it isn't usable, from
whom can I purchase a belt that will work?
I found the reason that caused the belt to slip in the first place,
after removing the two pump castings from the instrument: two screws
that were fractionally too long rubbed against the hub of the pump drive
mechanism.
I also centered the large pulley between the bearing surfaces with the
two cone-end screws on the pulley. The mechanism now moves smoothly
without "hitches" in it.
Many thanks in advance!
