I'm looking to see if any of you can shed light or information about
a player piano I saw recently. Friends bought a house which had the
piano in it; it has no maker on the plate, on the key fall it says
"Lutetia". The action is one with metal valves, see attached pictures.
I've not been able to figure out what it is; have any of you seen one
of these before? It has this neat thing where the spoolbox part of
the action folds forward to give access to the tuning pins.
The case is in pretty good condition, the wind motor runs but of course
it makes no sound -- I think the hoses are mostly perished. The friends
want to get rid of it (along with another upright piano which is not
a player). If they can't find any takers it will have to be trashed,
unfortunately.
