Historic Piano Roll Recording & Production Equipment
By Paul Johnson
Steffen Just was asking about locations of piano roll making equipment
[230322 MMD]. Yes, I believe MIM has the QRS recording piano though
I don't know if it is actually on display.
I heard the J. Lawrence Cook arranging machine was perhaps in a museum
in New York State; perhaps Bob Berkman knows, or others on some of the
Facebook groups may know. It seems I heard mention of it in the last six
months.
Finally, this great article by Art Reblitz features some photos of roll
making equipment:

Julian Dyer has also featured some of the arrangers at their arranging
tables in presentations he's done. Some or all of those images may be
found on the Pianola.org website: http://pianola.org/
Finding old arranging tables may be tricky. It would be interesting to
know if some of the grid printed paper is around.
