Pianola Concert at the Royal Albert Hall London
By David Newton
Remembering his performance at the National Musicians' Church last
August, I was delighted to see that Michael Broadway is due to play
at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 14th April in two weeks time.
I know that the Duo-Art has appeared there in a Promenade Concert
but I think this could be the first time that the pedal Pianola has
featured in the 150-year history of this most famous of venues.
As well as the standard repertoire there are two special Pianola
arrangements and a section devoted to Leopold Godowsky; the Moszkowski
transcription of "Chanson Boheme" was dedicated to Moritz Rosenthal,
another musician of the golden age of the piano.
The programme is listed on the link below with all the details of the
event.
