The AMICA Bulletin's March-April edition has been released.
Electronic PDF subscribers should have received their emailed
copy, and printed copies should land in most mailboxes the
week of February 20.
Mike Walter takes you to Seneca, Pennsylvania, where the QRS
factory maintains an over 100-year tradition of punching and
releasing music rolls. It's a mixture of old and new, with
photographs and descriptions of much of the original equipment
still being used to keep player piano hobbyists happy!
Several articles with pictures take you inside two Decap organ
and music roll factories in Belgium. Here, also after 100 years,
the work of organ building and music book production have never
stopped. Original organ components (with some interesting new
twists) and music books are still turned out by descendants of
the original Decap family founders.
With both QRS and Decap, although in different parts of the world,
you will be amazed at what is still there, and what you can get.
In a separate, illustrated tour, the series "Mechanical Music
Museums and Private Collections of Europe" concludes with Part Three.
AMICA's long-awaited New Orleans Convention in July is finally
almost here. An article and registration materials with all the
details are included in this edition.
If you have yet to renew or join AMICA, it's still early in the
year and a perfect opportunity to do so. Plus, you will receive
this rich publication and all the others for 2023. Go right
