I received my waterjet cutting machine today and have it almost set up
and hope to do some testing very soon. So for anyone interested in
making mechanical music machine parts, this capability for me is now
closer to reality.
I have spent about a week learning Rhinocad and feel somewhat confident
that I can make suitable drawings.
The machine is very fast with soft materials like gaskets, although it
is still more of a prototype or small production run machine. It will
never compete with using custom dies, etc., but for small runs it can
not be beat in terms of setup and tooling costs.
I can cut anything from soft materials to anything less hard than
garnet.
