After about 40 years the peripherals on my player piano have gone bad.
The wind motor and tracker bellows are stiff and crunchy and definitely
need a refreshing. Originally I just replaced the bellows cloth. This
time I'd like to clean up the mechanism more than I did the first time
and I have a question about polishing the crankshaft.
How do I remove the wooden pushrods from the crankshaft? Should I remove
the bushing cloth and wiggle them around the crankshaft curves, or leave
them in place and polish around them? Please advise me as to the best
practice.
