Seek Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ Rolls
By William Sherrick
The Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre has an Aeolian-Skinner residence
pipe organ. This has been installed since 1995 and it is played
before any shows. This is perhaps one of the last organs built under
the direction of Skinner, and the last surviving residential organ
in Upstate New York.
The organ has a Duo-Art player built into it but it was never connected
-- the vacuum lines to the motor and the associated mechanics were
sealed off. I am in the process of getting the unit operational again.
My problem is they never had any rolls for the organ. This organ
uses the same rolls as the one in Stoneleigh mansion in Villanova,
Pennsylvania. The roll has 176 hole locations and the paper is 15-1/4
inches wide. It is an Aeolian-Skinner Duo-Art roll.
Any information as to where I can obtain a roll for this organ would
be greatly appreciated. We are a non-profit town theater that offers
musical and drama productions for the local area residents.
Thank you,
