Hello All, I would like some detailed information as to the construction
of Jazz Flute pipes. Has anyone on this forum built a set of these?
I've heard these pipes on YouTube playing on an Arburo Dance Organ, and
I understand the principal behind them, but how can the tremolo feature
be added to a set of stopped or open flute pipes? Does anyone have any
drawings of these for construction? How can the rank of Jazz Flutes be
controlled to turn the tremolo on or off?
Also, how does a rank of stopped or open flute pipes on a dance organ
differ from the same rank as found on a band organ or fairground organ?
I would assume that the cutup of the pipes would be smaller on a dance
organ as compared to a band organ, but that is also assuming that
a dance organ is considerably more quiet.
I've never heard a dance organ in person, but I've owned a Wurlitzer
125 band organ, and I've also built ranks of flute pipes, violin pipes,
bass pipes, and wooden trumpets per the dimensions from the Wurlitzer
104/105 band organ plans published by Bob Stanoszek. With that in mind,
how do dance organ pipes in general compare to band organ pipes?
When I built my own MIDI operated band organ some years ago, I expanded
the band organ charts so that I could build pipes to a chromatic scale.
I wonder if the Arburo dance organs had fully chromatic pipes, or if
they were made similar to band organ or fairground organ scales.
I would welcome any information that compares in detail the construction
of dance organ pipes to that of [American] band organ pipes.
Thanks in advance!
