Tanzbär Accordion Bellows Repair
By Jim Quashnock

[ Ref. Ed Schmidt in 220731 MMDigest ]

Hi Ed, Finding someone to rebuild or replace the bellows on your
Tanzbär accordion is going to be very, very expensive. I recently
rebuilt the bellows on an early German-made button accordion, about
the same size as the Tanzbar.

It was work and took a long time, but I was successful. The tape
required to cover the seams is available on-line, as well as precut
corner pieces. I used thin leather and made my own corners. I covered
the bellows with suitably printed gift wrapping paper before applying
the tape.

It turned out air tight. I can't play it, but the instrument does play.
Email me if you need some more info.
