AMICA Bulletin July-August 2022 Edition Released
By Glenn Thomas

The AMICA Bulletin's July - August 2022 edition is being printed now
and will be mailed to subscribers over the next week. Email subscribers
should be receiving their PDF versions in the next day or two.

Great content just explodes in this issue! First, we tell the first
part of the remarkable story of Hathaway and Bowers in the 1960s
and 1970s. Many of us got our start in mechanical music thanks to
Terry Hathaway and Dave Bowers establishing and stocking this great
enterprise with instruments that we enjoy today. Now, for the first
time, you will know the whole story!

Matt Jaro's Nickel Notes tells the remarkable story of the rise
of different types of PhotoPlayers that accompanied so much silent
movie music in the 1920s.

Among the other great content is the story of porosity problems in
fabric used in mechanical music, by Francis Bowdery; transcribing
mechanical music on MIDI from one scale to another, by Matt Jaro;
and a Standard Pneumatic Action Company plan tour, contributed by
Alan Lightcap.

Don't miss any of this and lots more. Become a member of AMICA by
