Hi All, On May 13, 2022, I received a call that Wayne Joseph Boksa had
just passed away. He wrote a few articles for the MMDigest back in 1999
and 2000. Just a month earlier, he had purchased supplies from me for
a Simplex system that he was rebuilding. From what I could find online
on May 14th, and in his technician's listing at Player-Care, Wayne
had his own business (Wayne Boksa Piano Service) and he did work for
American Music World, in Elmhurst, Illinois.
On May 16th, I called American Music World, where Wayne worked, and
Judy told me that she and her sister were the ones who found Wayne.
He had come to work early on Friday and they found him unresponsive in
the shop. She said he was very healthy and quite active the day before.
So, it was quite a shock. She said that an autopsy will most likely be
performed because of the circumstances, but that she had no further
information. Judy said Wayne was 68.
More information about Wayne can be seen in his obituary at

It's interesting to note that the owner of Pickle Piano Company, Matt
Bechteler, called me yesterday (5/23/22) to order the Simplex service
manual. He explained that Wayne had finished rebuilding the player
system, which he was going to install after the restoration work on
the piano was finished. Now that the piano is done, Matt is going to
have to install the player system, and he knows nothing about players...
Musically,
