I have a friend with an Aeolian Orchestrelle Style V 58-note
player organ that she would like restored. This was maintained
by her father, who was a piano technician, for many years. More
recently the bellows have been recovered, pouch valves replaced,
and drawn screw holes in the panels that connect to the reed chest
have been repaired.
However, it still is not playing. I observe that there is crosstalk
between the pouches when the keys are pressed, so it will be more
than just recovering valves and bellows.
If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. It's a nice
instrument and deserves to speak again. And the owner is a nice
person who would like to hear her father's prized Orchestrelle again.
