Seek Piano Roll Scans for Visualization Series
By Piotr Barcz

I've been slowly collecting more piano roll scans for my ongoing
series of piano roll scans visualized in Synthesia. For those who
are new to the MMDigest or don't know about this series:

(a) Each video is rendered in Full HD video with high quality
audio from my Yamaha P-85, and (b) Each and every video (unles
the scan was bought from Peter's MIDI) has a free download link
and the name of the person who scanned the roll in the description.

For those who have piano rolls that they'd like to be featured,
or have scans of the following rolls, then please email me at
thepiotrcorporation@gmail.com.geentroep [delete ".geentroep"
to reply]. The rolls I'm looking for are listed here (some of
them I only have videos to show).

Ampico 216263B medley that has the songs Rosalie, Who Knows and
Once In A While. Played by Frank Milne

Ampico 216393B medley that has the songs Bewildered, Moonshine Over
Kentucky, Stolen Heaven. Played by Jeremy Lawrence (Frank Milne)

Ampico 216403B medley that has the songs Music Maestro Please,
Says My Heart, In Any Language, Daydreaming, You Leave. Played by
Frank Milne. Here's a video of a beautifully restored Mason & Hamlin
playing the roll: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPf3z9QWS90

Popular Hits Of The Day: Foxtrot Medley No. 25. Here's the video
of the roll being played, this is most definitely an arrangement
by Frank Milne: https://youtu.be/L-n9Pn2pC7E

King Porter Stomp played by the composer. This roll is a transcription
of the 1924 recording and I am still stumped as to who made the
transcription and who punched the roll. [The artist sounds like
John Farrell. -- Robbie]

Max Keenlyside has also transcribed this roll but there is also
a transcription of this version by Thomas Mueller on Free Scores.
Here's the Aeolian Hall video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dU0r2bc9zk&t=55s

There's also a video by it'sRemco of what appears to be a scan of
this roll _but it's mapped to the MIDI grid._ If anyone knows where
_that_ MIDI file is then please tell me or email me a copy; I've
been hunting all over for it! Here's the video by it'sRemco:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dU0r2bc9zk&t=55s

I'm also looking for the second roll of the same song
but it's a different arrangement. Here's a video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dU0r2bc9zk&t=55s

Artis Wodehouse also made a recording of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZriLuRBtwQ

If anyone has scans of both rolls or either one then please let me
know, this would complete my collection of King Porter Stomp rolls.

Hyena Blues played by the composer. I made a video scan of the
Aeolian Hall video that leaves more than a lot to be desired. If
anyone has a scan of this roll or it's recut by BluesTone then
please consider sending me a copy so that I won't have to post my
disdainfully bad scan. Here's the video I scanned:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE5ykaLPQJQ

Big Foot Ham. This piano roll is featured in Gary Dawes' video:
https://youtu.be/7PU4_-WGP-4

If anyone has a scan of the roll then this is definitely high up
on my list because it can also be used as Synthesia piano tutorial
material.

Kansas City Stomp. Weirdly, this song not only shows up as a piano
roll but also was sequenced by Warren Trachtman, I believe into
a MIDI file that was somehow snatched up by it'sRemco. Here's the
video of the piano roll https://youtu.be/ucOQ8U0GIo4

And here's the video of the MIDI file that I believe was Trachtman's
work. This would be preferable to the roll but either is fine.
https://youtu.be/Vf2pqc0yR1Q

I just found an Aeolian Hall video of the roll but I hope I won't
have to make the last ditch effort to scan it.

Just Friends played by Phil Ohman in the elusive Welte-Mignon recording.
I'm not sure anyone even has a scan of this roll but if anyone can make
a scan worthy video _then please do, this roll is impossible to find
for free._

You're The Cream In My Coffee played by Howard Lutter on his Welte roll.
Someone emailed me a while back when I was hunting for Frank Milne's
version that he had the roll and could record it with his push up,
who ever that was (sorry that I can't remember your name) I'd like to
follow up on that :)

Ampico Foxtrot Medley No. 2 played by Arden & Carroll.

Out of room for more text.
