Motorized Hand-cranked 20-note Organ
By Thaine Morris

I have a Hofbauer 36er that I have motorized. I converted it to MIDI.
I have a MIDI-controlled accordion and drum set and I can now play them
all together by myself. I used a treadle sewing machine large pulley
wheel and a motor acquired from All Electronics in Van Nuys, California.

The motor has a built-in variable speed controller, uses a 12VDC battery
and has a variable resistor for speed control. The variable resistor is
also from All Electronics. The motor has a lot of power and runs the
organ easily. I think it was designed for a electric skateboard or
bicycle.

I had to make the adapter for the large wheel to clamp it to the crank
shaft. I sourced the small pulley and the belt from Amazon.
