Wurlitzer Organs at Tom Fretty's Musical Museum
By Dan Robinson

James Williams asks in MMD 220206 about the Wurlitzer band organs that
were once at Tom Fretty's "Tom's Country Market and Musical Museum" in
Manly, Iowa. According to my own, unofficial "census" of American band
organs (plus European organs imported and converted to roll operation),
Tom Fretty owned three Wurlitzers -- a Style 105, Style 146 and Style
153.

The 105 was last known (by me) to be with a private owner in Indiana.
The 146, serial #3000, is owned by an MMDer in the Southeastern U.S.
The 153, serial #3706, was originally shipped to one of the Gooding
family's amusement outfits by way of ride manufacturer Spillman
Engineering and is now with a private owner in Illinois.

(If anyone reading this owns an under-the-radar band organ that may
not be on my list, I would appreciate adding it. I would not share your
information with any more specificity than that which I have shared in
this post.)
