Long since 2020 reared its ugly head across the entire globe, the
3-abreast Spillman Engineering carousel in Van Andel Museum Center
in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been (and still is, as of right now)
completely taken apart and sent out to the "hospital" of Carousels
And Carvings in Marion, Ohio.
Its Wurlitzer 157 band organ (fired up by the operator per patron's
request) and [carousel] figures, on the other hand, remain back at the
museum, for much needed TLC from "museum doctors, surgeons, and nurses."
The carousel building currently is also undergoing renovation, at
a whopping cost of well over a million greenbacks.
