Long ago, when floppy disks were new, Jody and I independently
reverse-engineered the PianoDisc PDS format. It's just a regular
floppy diskette with the allocation table zeroed out, as I recall.
I'll try to find the very old C code that wrote the disks. Maybe
Jody can find his program.
Now, whether you can still write a floppy depends on your drive.
Any Type 0 MIDI file should be okay.

[ Years ago (30?), I remember reverse-engineering serveral proprietary
[ floppy file systems. I didn't have access to the playback systems
[ for testing, so I never bothered to try to write new tunes onto
[ floppies for those file systems. I don't know if others tried
[ and were successful, but I wouldn't be surprised if others have
[ tried successfully. --Jody
