Bennett Leedy phoned me to advise of several pianos that are
available in Michigan. (Bennett doesn't get on-line much anymore.)
First is a Weber style WR Duo-Art. This piano was restored over
forty years ago and will need work. The mahogany case was never
refinished. It is located north of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is
free. We think it has a bench and there are some rolls, too. For
details, call Chuck Thomas at 1-616-550-5443.
The second source of interesting items is the Randy Stehle Estate
Auction, to be sold on November 10 at 10 a.m. near Kalamazoo.
Included is a Chickering 6' 5" that is probably about 1919. This
piano was rebuilt some time ago. It looks good in the single photo
posted. This large Chickering size has been getting much attention
in recent years for its glorious full tone. Several examples are
on YouTube. This size is scarce. I believe there is also a Marque
Ampico upright in this sale.
Prices should be reasonable in this market. There are many rolls.
