Just before the Cavalleria Rusticana intermezzo begins [time 2:14],
there is a small selection of the music from the opening orchestral
introduction from the same opera [1:56 ?].
As an arranger, I found it disappointing that so many of the orchestral
counter melodies (especially the high E-flat triplets in the Triumphal
March from Aïda) were omitted. It would have made for a more interesting
and authentic pot-pourri in my opinion than a mechanical transcription
straight from the published piano/vocal score reductions.
This is one of the reasons I have now given up on 88 note rolls (even
the ones I made!) and concentrate on the reproducing piano repertoire.
