Dear MMD'ers, In our pacing within and around the subject, we do
tend to find some of the most astonishing objects. Those who have
a special liking of the much rarer musical boxes will all be aware,
I hope, of the 72-note Libellion model (the fabulous example at
the Speelklok Museum is worth referring to here).
However, I am aware of a 100-note corner-cabinet model, no doubt
a special commission-order piece, here in England. The clock element
and movement is the same as the known 72-note model and it is very
well stocked with music.
A degree of restoration is required, but nevertheless, it is a
non-standard cabinet-model 100-note Libellion. Has anyone out there
heard of this type of variant and if so, where and how was it?
More importantly, and the main reason behind this post, it is being
discussed right now for sale. Perhaps those who are in a position to
be seriously interested and buy it can be kind enough to contact me
directly, please. This musical box deserves a rightful and appropriate
home.
Thank you,
Laurence Fisher
