As part of the restoration and reopening of some of the six carousels
built by the Allan Herschell Company which make up Binghamton's Broome
County Carousel Circuit, and in an effort to jump-start the restoration
forward, the West Endicott Rotary Committee has purchased a new
Wurlitzer Style 146-A band organ for the carousel in West Endicott Park
for the bargain basement price of $15,000.
Although, however, the link below to the article is incorrect as only
this machine and the 4-abreast Herschell at Recreation Park currently
have band organs providing the music, while the other four use a source
of "canned music".
