Seek Help to Repair Allan Stafford Nickelodeon
By Scotty Greene
DeBence Museum has a Stafford Nickelodeon on which we disconnected
some tubing while tuning. We do not know how to reconnect it properly
(our bad mistake). There are 6 unit valves on the back of the piano,
mounted above and to the rear of the stack.
Allan Stafford did not follow the normal O-Roll tracker bar tubing
when sequencing his machines. We badly need someone with a Stafford
conversion to tell us how to properly reconnect the tubing from those
valves to the tracker (or wherever they go). The four valves on the
right are interconnected and each pair has only one tube going to
two places.
Our piano was a Lauter, but Allan says they did not keep records
because "they just did them like the last one" so he is no help with
our problem.
Someone out there has a Stafford Nickelodeon and can give us the help
we need. _Please,_ and thank you.
