Hi Tim, Greetings from The Bronx. In regards to your inquiry, what
you may also have to consider, as to what is the value of a 'fully'
restored Ampico upright, is the brand of piano.
Then, as now, the brand name of a piano is a great factor as to what
its value is. Certain names demanded more prestige, as well as more
money! Mason & Hamlin and Chickering being amongst the top brands.
Other brands included are Haines Bros., etc.
Notwithstanding, the American Piano Company would only install the
Ampico reproducing actions into brands they either owned or were in
complete confidence of. (Then again, there were exceptions. There
have been examples of the 'Ampico' being installed in other well-known
and prestigious brands, mostly at the request of wealthy clients.)
Hope this has been of some help to you.
Stay Healthy and Safe,
