Hi Everyone, I'm having a problem with a Chickering piano with an
Ampico A drawer. It seems to be stuck in re-roll and will not shift
back to forward. I've checked connections and the shifter diaphragm
in the right side of the drawer. It all looks okay. Everything moves
and all connections look good.

I have a manual for Ampico pianos but it only shows the B drawer which
as everyone knows is totally different from the A drawer. The roll in
the piano is fully rewound and the trigger hole to stop the re-roll is
open. Even if I manually roll the roll forward until the tracker is
covered and I hold the forward lever to the left I still get no forward
movement -- just re-roll. It's like there is nothing to send the roll
forward.

I'm sure this is a simple problem but I could use some advice before I
start digging into all the mechanisms. Thanks in advance for the help!
