So, the good news is that one of the sample torsion springs has made
it to the vendor that is replicating them. I didn't ask which one, but
given I still haven't received notice from the U.S. Postal Service that
the one sent by Certified Mail has been delivered, it may have been the
first one sent in early December.
The not-terrible-news is that the projected 5-week production estimate
begins now. First, the vendor has design the process, identify which of
their machines can produce it and possibly wait until the machine can
be switched over from its current task (if any) to begin this new task.
They will produce one or two "proof" samples to send to me for approval
and give the production go-ahead (within 24 hours of receipt).
Once they can press the "go" button, it will probably finish the run
within a day or less, be packaged and shipped, hopefully by something
faster that the ox cart or roller skater that apparently delivered them
the sample.
I hope I can turn them around and out the door to subscribers by late
February. I was planning to mail them by ordinary, non-traced First
Class mail but, given my experiences thus far, that may not be the best
idea. When closer to that time, I will find out the least expensive
traceable shipping cost and offer that option to recipients. Again,
thanks for your patience.
