3D Printing of Piano Roll Spool Flanges
By Piotr Barcz

[ Ref. Ian Hamilton in 201205 MMDigest ]

I just read the latest MMDigest and I saw the message about 3D
printing piano roll flanges. I thought this was really funny because
about a month ago I had been thinking about printing flanges on my
aunt's 3D MakerBot printer!

There is a problem with this idea, though: the filament for the
printer is pretty expensive, making printing large numbers of flanges
too costly.

If anyone knows a 3D printer that can take really cheap filament then
please let me know. I have many broken flanges that I need to replace
before they tear the edges of my rolls to shreds.
