Seek Wiring Diagram For Alan Stafford Orchestrion
By Mike Nichols

Hi MMDers, I wonder if some enthusiast from your side of the pond
would have a wiring diagram for one of the orchestrions built by Alan
Stafford. I have had mine for about 20 years and it has never missed
a beat. It is based on a Lauter piano and has a really nice sound.

However, last time I plugged it in to play it tripped all of the fuses
in my house. It is a 110-volt instrument working through a transformer
to operate from the normal UK 220/240-volt mains. I am pretty sure that
the transformer is okay as it has not overheated.

A few years ago I did contact Alan Stafford to see if he could supply
a decal for the key fall but he explained that he has now retired so
could not supply one.

The external appearance of all of the instruments that he has made
do appear very similar so I am hoping the internal components are all
similar as well, even if fitted to different positions inside the
piano. Here's hoping someone can help.

Kind regards from the UK and keep safe over there!

Mike Nicholls
