Elephant Automaton at Waddesdon Manor
By Eric Stott

Jim Miller wrote [about orchestrions and music boxes], "My guess is
that they had possessed them and, further, that it is possible that
they exist still in some belly part of the gigantic manor house that
is Waddesdon."

I have a rather lavish illustrated book on Waddesdon, and if such
items exist they would probably be in those parts of the house still
inhabited by the family. When the house was open to the public much
of the family furnishings (such things as comfortable upholstered
sofas, tea tables, etc.) were stripped from the rooms to more properly
display the treasures, and to make walking paths.
