ArtEcho, Art Echo, Art-Echo & Apollo Rolls
By Rich Schommer

Art Echo & Apollo reproducing rolls are the same. They were all
made by QRS. The earliest rolls are labeled Artecho. They then
used Art Echo.

The first Apollo labeled rolls were sold by Wurlitzer. All the
rolls produced after about 1925 were labeled Apollo.

They used the same numbering system for Apollo & Artecho rolls.
Art Echo rolls had a price marked on the label. The Apollo rolls
have an extra number at the end that is a price code. The Apollo
price code is in 25 cent increments: 5 = $1.25, 6 = $1.50 and so on.

An Art Echo roll priced at $1.50 with roll # Rxxxx will be roll
# xxxx-6 on Apollo. Few if any rolls had the price changed over the
span of production.

The 1000 series numbered rolls are accompaniment arrangements.
2000 series rolls were transcribed from Welte masters. 3000 series
were classical, 4000 series were popular. All the early rolls were
assigned numbers in the 3000 series including the first popular rolls.
