Piotr, Greetings from The Bronx! In regards to the tune "Three Little
Fishes", in the early 1980s I had affixed a Gulbransen Record Rail to
an upright player piano. The device was mounted between the piano keys
and the keyframe. MIDI recording systems were still in their early
stages. This was done in a piano store in the Bronx.
The Gulbransen Record Rail was originally purchased by the piano store
and was to be used instead of the record rail that was being supplied
with the PianoCorder systems (which was very labor intensive and
required a lot of fine tuning and adjustments to get plausible
results).
On the other hand, the Gulbransen product was easily inserted under
the keys and screwed down onto the keyframe and only required to be
programmed into the computer by double stroking each key twice, and
the same went for the Soft and Sustain triggers. The Gulbransen
system worked fine with the computer, but not with the PianoCorder.
At the time, one of the owners of the piano store was also working
part-time for Voyetra, a manufacturer of MIDI components and software.
He wrote the program that was used to record approximately 57 rolls
on a Compaq computer. I am attaching one of those MIDI files to this
email, it's title is of course 'FISHES'. I believe that it is the
J. Lawrence Cook version of "Three Little Fishes" which you spoke of.
Also attached is a text file, the words to the song.
I hope this is of some help, but otherwise, please enjoy the MIDI file.
